3 Days Ngorongoro & Tarangire Wildlife Safari is a safari around the northern part of Tanzania starting in Arusha and then continuing to Tarangire national park for a wildlife viewing experience and then also visiting the Ngorongoro crater.

You will explore Tarangire national park which is home to many elephants and many other wildlife and bird species as you engage in morning and afternoon game drives around the national park.

During your 3 days Ngorongoro and Tarangire wildlife safari, you will also visit the Ngorongoro crater and search for wildlife species like the big 5 (elephants, buffalos, leopards, rhinos and lions) which are the difficult wildlife species to hunt on foot. After your wildlife viewing experience in Ngorongoro, you will be driven to Arusha which will being your safari to an end.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Tarangire national park

You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha by your guide who will welcome you and brief you shortly about your 3 days Tanzania safari. You will continue your drive to Tarangire national park where you will engage in an afternoon game drive. This national park is also known for having many elephants as well as over 600 bird species.

You will look out for various wildlife species during your game drive in Tarangire national park such as lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elands, hyenas, warthogs, impalas, klipspringers among others. Your guide will drive you to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 2; full day in Tarangire national park

On 2nd day of 3 days Ngorongoro and Tarangire safari, after having breakfast at your lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive to look out for different wildlife species around Tarangire national park such as elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, waterbucks, impalas among others. You will have lunch after your morning game drive as you prepare to engage in another game drive.

You will explore more of the savannah plains of Tarangire national park in the afternoon during your game drive as you enjoy seeing the baobab trees and attractions in the national park such as the Tarangire river which is a major water source for the different wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, impalas, waterbucks, zebras, lions, leopards and many others. Your dinner and overnight will be at Tarangire Roika lodge.

Day 3; drive to Ngorongoro crater and departure

On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge and your guide will drive you to Ngorongoro conservation area after your breakfast. You will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will see different wildlife species such as the big 5 like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. Other wildlife species in the Ngorongoro crater include cheetahs, waterbucks, hartebeests, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, warthogs among other.

You will also enjoy the beautiful views around the Ngorongoro crater and after your game drive around the crater, your guide will drive you to Arusha and drop you off at the airport which will bring your 3 days Ngorongoro and Tarangire wildlife safari to an end.
