4 Days Mikumi and Udzungwa Safari is a short Tanzania safari tour that takes you to the beautiful Mikumi National Park for game drives to see the different wildlife, as well the less-trodden Udzungwa Mountains in Udzungwa Mountains National Park for amazing scenic views. You shall get to enjoy game drives, see many animals in Mikumi National Park, as well as hiking experiences.
This4 Days Mikumi and Udzungwa Safari starts and ends in Dar es Salaam, and can be customized further to include Nyerere National Park formerly known as Selous Game Reserve.
Detailed 4 Days Mikumi and Udzungwa Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Mikumi National Park, Game Drive
Your Tanzania safari guide shall pick you up from the hotel of stay in Dar es Salaam and brief you about the 4 Days Mikumi and Udzungwa Safari. Thereafter, you shall drive to Mikumi National Park. You’ll stop at Morogoro for your picnic lunch boxes. After arrival at Mikumi National Park, you will enjoy your lunch over a picnic and then proceed on a game drive in the park. Look out for the different wild game in the park like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and so much more. Proceed to the camp thereafter; relax as you wait for dinner and overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Day 2: Game Drive in Mikumi National Park, Transfer to Udzungwa
You will embark on a captivating exploration of Nyerere National Park in an early game drive in the park, at 6am. Look out for more wild game as they head out for their day. Enjoy game viewing and then return to the camp for your breakfast.
After, check out and proceed to transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. En-route, enjoy amazing views of the area. Once at the hotel, check in and relax as you prepare for you hike of the mountains the next day. Dinner and an overnight stay at Udzungwa Falls Lodge.

Day 3: Hiking Experience
After breakfast, head out for a 4-6 hour guided hiking trail of Sonjo trail, the most sought after and scenic trail in Udzungwa National Park, that takes you to the very top. The Sonjo trail leads you through two waterfalls, taking you through a 6km Miombo vegetation hike from where you may spot rare primate species. Enjoy your lunch in the wilderness, and proceed on to return to the hotel. Relax for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and an overnight stay as above.
Day 4: Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. Check out thereafter and proceed on a transfer back to Dar es Salaam. You shall be dropped off at the airport for your flight, or hotel of stay. This ends your 4 Days Mikumi and Udzungwa Safari.
