Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Mgahinga national park

  • pick up and drive to Mgahinga: Your guide will pick you up from the airport or your current location in Entebbe and you will be briefed about your 4 days gorillas and golden monkey’s safari. After briefing, you will continue your drive to Mgahinga national park with a stop in Mbarara town for lunch. You will also go to the equator where you will enjoy taking photos and visiting the craft shops. 
  • You will continue your drive to Kisoro town after lunch and then proceed to your lodge in the national park where you will check-in and prepare to have your dinner and overnight.

Day 2; golden monkey trekking and drive to Bwindi national park

  • golden monkey trekking: You will wake up and have early breakfast at your lodge as you prepare to engage in the morning golden monkey trekking activity. You will be briefed at the park headquarters about the activity and other details about the golden monkeys. The activity will take about 2 to 5 hours in the natural habitat of the golden monkeys as you enjoy hiking through steep and densely forested hills in search of the monkeys which you will be allowed to spend about 1 hour with.

  • drive to Bwindi national park: Lunch will be had after the golden money trekking activity in Mgahinga national park as you prepare to continue to Bwindi national park. You will check-in at the lodge in Bwindi and relax the rest of the evening as you await your dinner and a relaxing night in the comfort of your lodge.

Day 3; gorilla tracking (Ruhija)

  • gorilla tracking (Ruhija): On day 3 of your safari, you will have an early breakfast at your lodge ahead of your gorilla trekking activity in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will proceed into the forest in your groups of eight people as you search for gorillas for about 2 to 8 hours in Bwindi forest where you will also enjoy seeing other bird species as well as primates in the trees like black and white colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys. You will spend about 1 hour with the gorillas before returning to the briefing point where your guide will meet your and rive you back to your lodge for relaxing and spending the rest of the evening at leisure. Some of the OPTIONAL activities you can engage in after the gorilla trekking activity include a community tour to interact with the Batwa people and getting to know their way of life. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 4; departure

  • departure: On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast at your lodge before checking out and continuing your journey to Entebbe where your guide will drop your off at a location of your preference or at the airport which will mark the end of your safari.
