5 Days Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro safari is an experience in various wildlife destinations in Tanzania such as Lake Manyara national park, Serengeti national park and also a visit to Ngorongoro crater.

You will begin your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari with pick up by your guide and later transfer to your 1st wildlife viewing destination on the itinerary which is Lake Manyara national park known for tree climbing lions.

After engaging in different game drives in Lake Manyara national park, you will continue to Serengeti national park for a big 5 experience and for more game drives in the open savannah plains of this national park also known for the great wildebeest migration where over 2 million wildebeests migrate in their herds annually between Serengeti national park and the Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya.

During your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari, you will also visit one of the world’s largest inactive calderas the Ngorongoro crater which has a large concentration of wildlife species and also flamingos at the shores of Lake Magadi. You will end your safari in Arusha where your guide will drop you off which will bring the tour to an end.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Lake Manyara national park

On the 1st day of your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari, your guide will welcome you after pick up from the airport in Arusha. You will proceed to Lake Manyara national park with a stop in Mto wa mbu town located on the way to your national park. Mto wa mbu town is a small town which is located on the way to lake Manyara national park where you can interact with the local community which consists of different cultures as you get to know about their way of life.

Your guide will drive you to Lake Manyara national park for lunch at your lodge and you will later engage in an afternoon game drive. During your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari, you will enjoy seeing the unique tree climbing lions as well as other wildlife species such as elephants, zebras, elands, impalas, waterbucks among others. You will return to your lodge after the afternoon game drive for dinner and to spend the night at Twiga lodge.

Day 2; morning game drive and drive to Serengeti national park

After having breakfast at your lodge on the 2nd day of your 5 days Ngorongoro and Manyara safari, you will engage in a morning game drive as you enjoy seeing the beautiful landscape of Lake Manyara national park and also catch a glimpse of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will continue your drive to Serengeti national park for lunch after checking in at the lodge.

Serengeti national park is known for the wildebeest migration and also for the big 5 animals which include elephants, leopards, lions, buffalos and rhinos. You will engage in an afternoon game drive to see more wildlife species in the open savannah plains and woodlands of Serengeti national park such as wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elands, impalas, giraffes, topi, hippos and many others. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 3; full day in Serengeti national park

On the 3rd day of your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari, your guide will drive you from your lodge in Serengeti national park as you enjoy seeing various wildlife species in the savannah plains and woodlands of the national park and the wildlife species include wildebeests, hippos, buffalos, lions, leopards, zebras, elephants, elands, dik dik, gazelles, and giraffes among others. You will also enjoy seeing the kopjes which are rock outcrops during your morning game drive.

You will have lunch at your lodge after your morning game drive in Serengeti national park and later engage in another game drive in the afternoon to experience the amazing and diverse surroundings in the national park while you look out for different wildlife species. Dinner and overnight will be at Osinon camps and lodges.

Day 4; morning game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area

You will have a morning game drive in Serengeti national park to get another wildlife viewing experience since the wildlife species are active in the morning and can easily be seen. After your game drive in Serengeti national park, your guide will drive you to Ngorongoro conservation area for more wildlife viewing experiences during your 5 days Ngorongoro and Manyara safari.

During your 5 days Manyara and Ngorongoro safari, you will also visit the famous Ngorongoro crater which was formed as a result of collapse of a volcano about 2. 5 million years ago. This crater is known for having a large concentration of wildlife species such as wildebeests, cheetahs, zebras, lions, leopards, gazelles, buffalos, rhinos, waterbucks and many others. Bird species such as flamingos can also be seen after descending to the crater where you will find many different bird species along the shores of Lake Magadi. You will have dinner and overnight at Hhando coffee lodge.

Day 5; departure

After having breakfast at your lodge in Ngorongoro conservation area, your guide will drive you back to Arusha and drop you off at the airport which will bring your 5 days lake Manyara and Ngorongoro safari to an end.
