5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

This 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari gives you an opportunity to explore the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park Rwanda that offers you the exciting safari experience.

Day 1: Arrival & overnight in Kigali

On the 1st day of your safari, depending on arrival time, our driver guide will pick you up and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, he will take you on a city excursion where you will get to explore Kigali City, have lunch en route.

After checking in at your lodge, relax while you prepare for the evening’s dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to Ruhengeri

Wake up in the morning you will be served with breakfast at the lodge, after you will go for another city tour around Kigali city where you will visit the Kimironko market, the Genocide memorial site and many more excursions.

Later, you will have your lunch meal in the city then transfer to Ruhengeri arriving in the evening for check in and relaxation and stay overnight.

Day 3: First Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early in the morning, you will be served with breakfast at the lodge, after meet your driver guide who will drive you to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing before continuing to look for gorillas.

It takes 1 to 7 hours for the search for gorillas to be completed, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Adventuring up the steep bamboo slopes to see the gorillas is an enlightening experience. You will have the opportunity to spend an hour with the gorillas at a distance of about 6 – 8 meters. You will then journey back to your starting point after this magical hour, receive your respective mountain gorilla trekking certificates, and then drive back to your lodge to relax after having spent an hour with the mountain gorillas. Where you will also have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Trek

This day you enjoy your second day of gorilla trekking but in a different location and to a different mountain gorilla family. On the same day, you will have to go through the exact same process before heading to the gorilla sanctuary to look for gorillas. You will be able to have a maximum of one hour with the gorillas once they have been located, just as you did the previous day, before you return to the park headquarters to pick up your certificate for mountain gorilla trekking. As you did on the previous day, you can decide whether to take part in a few optional activities within the park or stay at your gorilla safari lodge to relax and kill off your fatigue as well. Where you will also have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Kigali and departure

This is the last day of your Safari. Have an early morning breakfast meal and depart the park for Kigali.

Upon arrival in Kigali, you can have lunch at Hotel Rwanda and after proceed to the airport to catch up with your onward flight to mark the end of your 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari.
