Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park.

Transfer from Arusha to Lake Manyara: On the first of the safari you will have early morning breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, meet your safari driver who is a representative from Focus East Africa Tours, he will give you a short briefing about the safari and set off for Lake Manyara national park. Lake Manyara national park is a relatively small protected area but a great ecosystem hosting many animals such as lions, leopard, African wild cat, spotted hyena, bat-eared fox, genet, honey badger and serval, cheetah, African golden cats, hippos, antelopes, zebras, Thomson gazelle and Grant ’s gazelle, wildebeests, waterbuck, impalas, warthogs, giraffes cape buffalo and many more. The park also hosts magnificent physical features such as Lake Manyara the 7th largest lake in Tanzania and Maji moto hot springs, upon arrival in the park you will have lunch after checking into your lodge and in the afternoon you will go for a game on which you will spot many animals. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park

Morning game drive and transfer to Serengeti: On the second day of the safari you will leave your lodge and drive to the park for an early morning game drive, early morning game drive offers views of predators such as lions, leopard, African wild cat, spotted hyena, bat-eared fox, genet, honey badger and serval, cheetah, African golden cats and many more. Then head back to your lodge for late breakfast, after breakfast you will checkout of your lodge and set off on your journey to Serengeti national park which is a drive of about 6 hours and when you arrive in the park you will have lunch and rest for a while. Serengeti national park is a great ecosystem situated in the northern region of Tanzania famous for the annual wildebeest migration, the park is habitat for various species of animals such as lion, African leopard, African bush elephant, eastern black rhinos, cape buffalo, cheetah, spotted hyenas, jackals, otters, bushbucks and many more. In the evening you will drive to the plains of Serengeti for an evening game drive which offers sights of predators such as lions, cheetah, leopards and many more, with the help of a spotlight you will watch these animals as they ambush small preys. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Full day game drive

Full day game drive: On the third day of the safari you will have morning breakfast and with your packed lunch you will head to Serengeti national park for a full day of amazing game drive, depending on the period of your visit in the park you might be very lucky to watch the world’s spectacle of the wildebeest migration. The migration consists of thousands of wildebeests along with zebras and gazelles, apart from the wildebeest migration you will spot many other animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, impalas, elephants, kobs, giraffes and many more. You will have picnic setting of lunch at one of the picnic sites in the park and then go for another game drive exploring various parts of Serengeti. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Hot air balloon Safari and transfer to Ngorongoro.

Hot air balloon Safari and transfer to Ngorongoro: On the fourth day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and head to the park for a hot air balloon safari experience, this experience offers aerial views of the park’s landscape and the animals. Hot air balloon experience offers a great sight of the wildebeest migration and a great photography opportunity, head back to your lodge, have lunch then transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area which is a drive of about 3 hours. On your way to Ngorongoro crater you will visit the pre-historic site of Olduvai Gorge museum where you will learn more about the life of the early man and sight their remains, from the museum you will head to the crater, check into your lodge and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: game drive and transfer back to Arusha

game drive and transfer back to Arusha: On the 5th and last day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast and drive to the crater for exploration of the world’s largest intact crater on a game drive, the crater is hosts over 25,000 animals with the largest concentration of lions which are spotted. You will also spot other animals like leopards, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, black rhinos, hyenas, gazelles, antelopes, jackals, hippos and many more. After the experience you will drive back to your lodge for lunch, checkout of your lodge and set off on a drive back to Arusha. Once in Arusha you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your departure flight.
