6 Days Ngorongoro & Serengeti Wildlife Safari is a trip across different destinations such as the Ngorongoro conservation area, Serengeti national park and the Ndutu area for amazing wildlife viewing experiences.

You will also enjoy seeing the calving season in the Ndutu area where 0ver 8000 calves are born daily. This is part of the wildebeest migration which is the movement of about 2 million wildebeests.

You will also enjoy exploring the Ngorongoro crater where you will see different wildlife species and also seeing the beautiful scenery. Your 6 days Ndutu and Serengeti safari will begin and also end in Arusha.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to hotel in Arusha

Your guide will pick you up from Kilimanjaro international airport and welcome you for your 6 days Ndutu and Serengeti safari. You will have a short briefing for your safari before proceeding to your hotel in Arusha where you will check in and prepare to have your dinner and spend the night.

Depending on the time of your arrival, you will have a visit to Arusha national park where you will engage in a walking safari and see different wildlife species like giraffes, buffalos, zebras among others. After this experience, you will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 2; drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to the Ngorongoro conservation area. You will enjoy a wildlife viewing experience in the world’s largest inactive caldera which is home to numerous wildlife species such as leopards, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, elephants, gazelles, antelopes and many others. You will also enjoy various bird species during your safari in Ngorongoro.

You will have lunch before descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater on a game drive to see various wildlife species. You will also enjoy seeing flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi as well as many other bird species. After your game drive in the crater, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3; transfer from Ngorongoro to Ndutu area

Breakfast will be served at your lodge as you prepare for a transfer to the Ndutu area for more wildlife viewing experiences. This area is found north of Ngorongoro conservation area and is known for the calving season during the wildebeest migration where wildebeests give birth to their young ones. After checking in at your lodge and having lunch, you will engage in an afternoon game drive to explore the wilderness of the Ndutu area.

Wildlife species in the Ndutu area also include elephants, zebras, cheetahs, giraffes, lions, leopards among others. You will be driven back to your lodge after your game drive as you prepare for dinner and overnight.

Day 4; Ndutu to Serengeti national park

After having breakfast at your lodge in Ndutu area, you will prepare for a transfer to Serengeti national park for more experiences with wildlife during your 6 days Ndutu and Serengeti safari. You will explore the central part of Serengeti national park which is also referred to as Seronera area. You will check in at your lodge in Seronera area and have lunch as you prepare to engage in an evening game drive in the open savannah grass plains of Serengeti national park.

During your evening game drive in Serengeti national park, you will see wildlife species such as lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, hippos and elephants among others. You will return to your lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight.

Day 5; full day in Serengeti national park

Breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park as you prepare for a morning game drive around the national park. You will enjoy searching for wildlife species like the big 5 which include elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffalos. You will also enjoy seeing attractions such as the Simba kopjes where you will spot lions. You will have lunch before engaging in an afternoon game drive.

After lunch, you will drive around Serengeti national park in search of other wildlife species like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, warthogs, impalas, kudu, dik dik, waterbucks among others. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 6; drive to Arusha

You will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a transfer from Serengeti national park to Arusha. You will have an en route game drive in the national park to enjoy seeing wildlife species in the savannah plains of Serengeti national park on the way to Arusha where you will be dropped off at the airport or at your hotel in Arusha which will bring your 6 days Ndutu and Serengeti safari to an end.
