Detailed itinerary

Day 1; Arrival and Drive to Arusha

Arrival and Drive to Arusha: On the 1st day of your 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari, you will be picked up from the airport by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your safari. You will continue your drive to Arusha where you will check-in at your hotel and prepare to have your lunch.
You will later have a tour of Arusha to visit the local museum, the local market, art and craft centers for souvenirs, and to interact with the local community as part of your experience of the life in Arusha. You will be driven back to your hotel to have your dinner and overnight.

Day 2; Drive to Tarangire national park

Drive to Tarangire: After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will check out of the hotel and your guide will drive you to your first destination for wildlife viewing in the itinerary which is Tarangire national park also located in the northern part of Tanzania. You will check-in when you arrive in the national park as you prepare to have your lunch.
Evening game drive: You will have an evening game drive to explore the wilderness of Tarangire national park during your wildlife search where you will follow different routes and locations of wildlife sightings in order to see wildlife species such as elephants, giraffes, antelopes, kudu, zebras, leopards as you enjoy views of the baobab trees that provide shelter for the animals and bird species. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight after your evening game drive on day 2 of your safari.

Day 3; Full day in Tarangire national park

Full day in Tarangire: A full day of wildlife viewing in Tarangire national park will start with breakfast at your lodge as you prepare to proceed into the savannah plains of the national park. During your morning game drive, you will be able to see a variety of wildlife species that are active during the morning and include tree-climbing lions, elephant herds, elands, impalas, giraffes, hartebeests and a wide range of bird species.
Lunch will be served at your lodge after your morning game drive and later, you will have another wildlife viewing experience in Tarangire national park during which you will visit the Tarangire river as well as other attractions in the national park as you continue your search for wildlife species. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight after the full day of game drives.

Day 4; Drive to Lake Manyara national park

Drive to Lake Manyara: Ahead of your transfer to Lake Manyara national park, you will have breakfast at your lodge and then check out of the lodge. After checking out of the lodge, you will engage in an en route game drive as you exit the national park. Your guide will drive you to your next wildlife viewing destination where you will begin with check-in at your lodge as you prepare to have for lunch.
After lunch, you will have a game drive to see more of the wilderness of Lake Manyara national park as you search for wildlife species grazing and hunting for food in the savannah plains and these wildlife species include antelopes, lions, elands, impalas, giraffes, elephants, gazelles and many bird species. You will return to your lodge after your game drive as you prepare to have dinner and overnight.

Day 5; Transfer to Serengeti national park

Transfer to Serengeti: You will have breakfast at your lodge and after you will check out of the lodge as you prepare to have a transfer to the famous Serengeti national park known for the big five which is lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos and is also known for the wildebeest migration which involves movement of thousands of wildebeest from Masai Mara national reserve to Serengeti national park in search for greener pastures.
After checking in at your lodge in Serengeti national park, you will enjoy lunch and spend time at leisure at you lodge. You will have a guided nature walk to experience the wilderness of the national park and enjoy the sunset over the endless plains where wildlife species graze and hunt. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as you prepare for more wildlife viewing experiences the next day of your safari.

Day 6; Full day in Serengeti national park

Full day in Serengeti: Breakfast will be served early morning at your lodge and with your packed lunches, you will head out for amazing wildlife viewing experiences that will begin with a morning game drive to look for wildlife species which are very active during the morning such as the elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hippos, wildebeests, elands, impalas, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, waterbucks, and many others. You will get a chance to watch as lions hunt their unknowing prey such as antelopes from the comfort of your car. You will also enjoy your lunch in the wild as you watch hippos swimming in the retina hippo pool.
After lunch, you will drive around the kopjes such as the Moru kopjes, Masai kopjes and Simba kopjes for a good look at the predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs which sit on these rocks as they observe their prey grazing in the open plains. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 7; Drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

Drive to Ngorongoro conservation area: You will start your day with breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti national park before checking out of the lodge ahead of your drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area which is another popular tourist destination in the northern tourist circuit. You will explore the crater rim and have lunch before descending into the crater to see the wildlife species such as predators like lions, leopards and cheetahs as well as wildebeests, zebras, elands, impalas, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests, elephants, gazelles, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, buffalos, hippos among others.
As you continue to explore the Ngorongoro crater, you will also visit Lake Magadi which is found in the crater area and is known for having many flamingos along its shores and in the water as well as being a good birding location to see a variety of bird species during a safari. You will also see wildlife grazing near the shores of the lake during your tour of the crater. After this experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8; Departure

Departure: After having breakfast at your lodge, you will check out of the lodge and continue your journey to Arusha where your guide will drop you off at a location of your preference which will mark the end of your safari.
