8 days Mara and Serengeti wildlife safari takes place in Masai Mara national reserve in south western Kenya and also Serengeti national park, Tarangire national park and Ngorongoro crater in the northern part of Tanzania.
You will engage in game drives around the destinations in search of different wildlife species during your safari such as the big 5 like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos as well as other wildlife species and bird species.
Masai Mara national reserve and Serengeti national park are also known for the wildebeest migration which is the annual movement of over 1.5 million wildebeests.
The 8 days Mara and Serengeti wildlife safari will start in Nairobi and end in Arusha.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up and drive to Masai Mara national reserve
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi on the 1st day of your safari and welcome you. You will also have a short briefing before continuing to Masai Mara national reserve. Your guide will drive you to your lodge in Masai Mara national reserve where you will check in and have your lunch.
After lunch, you will engage in a game drive around Masai Mara national reserve and explore the savannah in search of wildlife species such as elephants, lions, buffalos, leopards, giraffes, zebras, antelopes among others. You will be driven back to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Sentrim Mara lodge.
Day 2; full day in Masai Mara
You will have breakfast early at your lodge and after breakfast you will engage in a morning game drive around Masai Mara national reserve where you will search for different wildlife species such as the big 5. You will also have lunch after your morning game drive in the reserve.
After lunch you will engage in another game drive and search for wildlife species like elephants, cheetahs, lions, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, leopards and many others. You will return to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at Sentrim Mara lodge.
Day 3; flight to Serengeti national park
Your breakfast will be served at your lodge in Masai Mara national reserve as you prepare for your flight to Serengeti national park. You will be driven to your lodge from the airstrip in Serengeti national park and continue to your lodge where you will check in for lunch.
After lunch you will spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge and dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.
Day 4; full day Serengeti national park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti national park and explore the savannah plains in search of different wildlife species such as wildebeests, zebras, hippos, antelopes, lions, leopards, hippos, gazelles, kudu, giraffes, buffalos among others. You will have lunch after your morning game drive around the national park.
You will also engage in another game drive around Serengeti national park in the afternoon and look out for more wildlife species as you explore the vast savannah plains and later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Serengeti heritage luxury tented camps and lodges.
Day 5; drive to Ngorongoro crater
You will be driven from your lodge in Serengeti national park and transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will check in for lunch at your lodge. You will also engage in a game drive on the crater floor after descending about 600 meters into the crater. You will search for different wildlife species as you explore the crater such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, elephants, antelopes, impalas, zebras, gazelles, hippos among others.
During the safari you will also visit Lake Magadi where you will see flamingos along the lake shores as well as other wildlife species as you explore the Ngorongoro crater and enjoy the scenery. You will later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Hhando coffee lodge.
Day 6; drive to Tarangire national park
You will have breakfast and check out of your lodge as you prepare to drive to Tarangire national park where you will look out for the large elephant herds. You will check in for lunch at your lodge before engaging in a game drive.
After lunch, you will drive around Tarangire national park and explore the attractions like Tarangire river as you look out for different wildlife species such as lions, buffalos, antelopes, giraffes among others. Your dinner and overnight will be at Baobab tented lodge.
Day 7; full day in Tarangire national park
After an early breakfast at your lodge on the 7th day of your safari, your guide will drive you around Tarangire national park where you will engage in a full day game viewing experience in search of different wildlife species. The national park has over 600 bird species which can be seen during safaris.
You will have lunch before engaging in another game drive around Tarangire national park in search of wildlife species like elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, waterbucks among others. Your dinner and overnight will be at Baobab tented lodge.
Day 8; drive to Arusha
On the last day of your safari your guide will pick you up from your lodge and drive you back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at the airport or your hotel in Arusha which will bring your safari to an end.
