9 days Northern Tanzania safari : 9 days Tanzania safari is a wildlife viewing safari experience across different destinations in the northern part of Tanzania such as Tarangire national park, Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro conservation area and also Lake Manyara national park.
You will engage in game drives around the different destinations across the northern part of Tanzania during your 9 days safari as you look out for various wildlife species. The safari will start in Arusha and also end in Arusha.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up in Arusha
Your guide will pick you up from the airport in Arusha and welcome you for your safari to Tanzania. You will have a short briefing about the safari and you will be driven to your hotel where you will have dinner and spend the first night of your 9 days Tanzania safari.
Day 2; drive to Tarangire national park
You will visit Tarangire national park on the 2nd day of your safari after starting the day with breakfast at your hotel in Arusha. Your guide will drive you from your hotel in Arusha and you will continue to Tarangire national park which is home to a big number of elephants and is also known for having baobab trees.
You will check in at your lodge where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will engage in a game drive and explore Tarangire national park as you search for wildlife species such as antelopes, elephants, zebras, buffalos, giraffes and many others. After the game drive you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3; drive to Serengeti national park
On the 3rd day of your safari, you will start with breakfast at your lodge and your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park which is home to a big number of wildlife species like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, elands, impalas, kudu, cheetahs, waterbucks and many others. You will check in at your lodge in the central part of Serengeti national park and also engage in a game drive around the savannah plains of the national park.
You will return to your lodge after your game drive and have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.
Day 4; full day in Serengeti national park
After an early breakfast at your lodge in the central part of Serengeti national park, you will engage in a morning game drive as you enjoy looking out for wildlife species such as the big 5 like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos. You will also enjoy seeing rock outcrops or kopjes as you drive around the national park in search of various wildlife species. You will have lunch after your morning game drive in the national park.
On the 4th day of your safari, you will also engage in another game drive around Serengeti national park as you enjoy searching for different wildlife species. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge after the game drive for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5; drive to Serengeti national park (north)
You will have breakfast at your lodge in the central part of Serengeti national park before checking out of the lodge. Your guide will drive you to the northern part of Serengeti national park which consists of rivers, hills and kopjes.
In the northern part of Serengeti national park, you will engage in a full day game drive as you search for different wildlife species such as giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, topi, and elands among others. You will be driven to your lodge after exploring the northern part of Serengeti national park.
Day 6; full day in northern Serengeti
After breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you for another day of exploring the northern part of Serengeti national park. You will engage in morning and afternoon game drives around the national park as you enjoy the beautiful views and search for different wildlife species such as predators like lions, leopards and cheetahs which can be spotted in this part of the national park.
You will have a lunch break after your morning game drive and also engage in an afternoon game drive around the northern part of Serengeti national park. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight after your game drives.
Day 7; drive to Ngorongoro conservation area
Your breakfast will be served at your lodge in Serengeti national park as you prepare for a drive to the Ngorongoro conservation area. you will visit the Ngorongoro crater on the 7th day of your safari and enjoy exploring the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera which is home to different wildlife species like elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, waterbucks, impalas, lions, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs among others.
You will descend about 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater as you enjoy a game drive around the destination. You will look out for flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi in the center of the Ngorongoro crater. You will also enjoy the beautiful views around the crater before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8; drive to Lake Manyara national park
You will have an early breakfast before driving to Lake Manyara national park which is home to the tree climbing lions. The national park is found in the northern part of Tanzania and is also home to different wildlife species such as elephants, baboons, colobus monkeys, hippos, waterbucks, zebras among others.
You will engage in a game drive around Lake Manyara national park which is also known for having flamingos that can be seen along the shores of Lake Manyara which covers a big part of the national park. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge after the game drive in the national park.
Day 9; drive to Arusha
On the last day of your 9 days Tanzania safari, you will have breakfast before your guide drives you to back to your hotel in Arusha or to the airport which will bring your Tanzania safari to an end.
